GOVERNMENT GRANTS
1. In this Schedule-
“suburb” means the village of Ayios Dhometios, Engomi, Eylenja, Orta Keuy (Minzeli), Strovolos and Trakhonas:
Νοείται ότι το Υπουργικόν Συμβούλιον δύναται, διά Διατάγματος δημοσιευομένου εν τη επισήμω εφημερίδι της Δημοκρατίας, να προσθέση εις τον κατάλογον των χωρίων τούτων, ή να αφαιρέση εξ αυτού, οιονδήποτε χωρίον.
2. The grants shall be-
(a) the School Maintenance Grant;
(b) the Teacher’s Residences Grant; and
(c) the School Premises Grant.
3.-(1) The School Maintenance Grant shall be-
ποσόν υπολογιζόμενον βάσει τοιούτου συντελεστού κατά μαθητήν εκάστου σχολείου ή εκάστης τάξεως σχολείου εν εκάστω σχολικώ έτει οίον ήθελεν από καιρού εις καιρόν ορισθή δι’ αποφάσεως του Υπουργικού Συμβουλίου and shall be payable to Town Committees, Village Commissions and Committees of Management, as the case may be, through the Director, not later than the 31st December in every school year, to be calculated on the basis of the average attendance of pupils for the immediately preceding year in the school of which such Town Committee, Village Commission or Committee of Management has the general management and supervision and to be utilized for the purposes set out in section 24(1) of the Law.
(2) Notwithstanding anything in this paragraph contained, where, during any school year, a school has not functioned for the full number of normal working days, the Governor may, in his discretion, direct that, in determining the average attendance of pupils under this paragraph, the period for which the school has not so functioned shall be regarded as a period during which pupils could have attended the school.
4. The Teachers’ Residences Grant shall be ποσόν οριζόμενον, από καιρού εις καιρόν, δι’ αποφάσεως του Υπουργικού Συμβουλίου αναφορικώς προς έκαστον διδάσκαλον υπηρετούντα in a village (other than a suburb) and shall be payable to the Village Commissions and Committees of Management, through the Director, not later than the 31st December in every school year.
5. Τhe School Premises Grant shall be ποσόν οριζόμενον, από καιρού εις καιρόν, δι’ αποφάσεως του Υπουργικού Συμβουλίου in every school year and shall be paid to the Director for allocation to such Town Committees, Village Commissions and Committees of Management, towards their cost of providing adequate school premises, as in the opinion of the Director are in need of assistance.
6. Η καταβολή οιασδήποτε των εν τω παρόντι Πίνακι αναφερομένων επιχορηγήσεων ήτις ορίζεται δι’ αποφάσεως του Υπουργικού Συμβουλίου ή υπολογίζεται βάσει συντελεστού οριζομένου διά τοιαύτης αποφάσεως εξαρτάται εκ της υπό της Βουλής των Αντιπροσώπων ψηφίσεως του προϋπολογισμού ή συμπληρωματικού προϋπολογισμού εν τω οποίω προβλέπεται η σχετική δαπάνη.
